Summit Arts

Summit Arts is about building community through creative practice and artistic experimentation.

The mission of Summit Arts is to educate future generations through collaboration, provide support for emerging artists, and foster interdisciplinary dialogue with leading scientists around pressing global issues.

Summit Arts will work towards establishing Summit Powder Mountain as a central location for arts education and creative cross-pollination in the United States. Programs within Summit Arts will build community through creative practice, while also providing platforms for the next generation of artists and scientists to explore new ideas in an inspiring setting.

Drawing families closer through creativity & nature

Creative Families Program provides unique educational experiences to help build stronger relationships within families through contemporary art making and traditional crafting on Powder Mountain.

Through many partnerships with leading educational institutions, Creative Families will provide an exciting and unique opportunity for unparalleled youth education on Powder Mountain. Partnerships will bring a broad range of programming opportunities to Powder Mountain serving both visiting families and families residing in the local area.

Supporting ambitious artistic vision and creative entrepreneurialism

The Summit AIR Program is a hybrid residency focused on entrepreneurialism, social practice and group efficacy. The program invites 10 emerging and mid-career artists annually to explore ambitious creative endeavors while living in beautiful Eden, Utah.

Visiting artists will immerse themselves in the surrounding nature of the expansive Wasatch Mountains while connecting with visiting mentors of the Summit community comprised of the world’s top business leaders, innovators, athletes and philanthropists.

Exploring art and studying nature

Open Museum is a roaming exhibition program that weaves the social fabric
of the Summit Community and
the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape into monumental and ephemeral art experiences.

Open Museum supports a fluid dialogue between scientists, artists and the community creating an interdisciplinary conversation about environment and our relationship to it.

Our past, present and future — with you

Art has been an integral part of Summit since its inception in 2008. We have established nationally recognized creative programs, supported hundreds of the world’s most inspiring artists and provided numerous opportunities for education and idea sharing.

Summit Arts will continue to expand upon this mission and carry it into the future where art and exploration are central to the defining character of the community at Powder Mountain and the town being developed there.

Summit Powder Mountain will become a campus of thought and self-expression established through the offerings of Summit Arts and it’s parent organization the Summit Institute. Support from our community is instrumental to create lasting impact that supports a diverse and exciting group of artists.

As a branch of the 501-3C nonprofit Summit Institute, Summit Arts relies on the financial contributions of individuals and like-minded businesses that are committed to helping establish an arts program unlike any other in the country. This support will play a key role in establishing Summit Arts as a beacon of excellence for creative thought and expression.
